The Different Types of massage Agape Day Spa Offers

Swedish massage Promotes relaxation, increases blood circulation and oxygen flow, releases toxins and reduces stress. Techniques include: long, gliding strokes, muscle kneading, friction, percussion and vibration.

Deep Tissue Helps to release pain and restrictions in the muscles and connective tissues. We do not ascribe to a "no pain, no gain" philosophy, but there are times when deep tissue work can be very beneficial and effective for pain and tension relief. If we opt for deep tissue work, we will communicate to ensure that that the pressure and depth of the work is within your comfort zone. You are in control of the process throughout the session. Many clients describe deep tissue work as a "good hurt", the feeling that deep tension is being worked out of the muscles.

Hot Stone Massage A style of massage therapy in which water-treated stones are placed at specific sites on the client's body to promote relaxation and to help open up the merdians (energy pathways). Muscles are pretreated with the heated stones to allow the therapist to more easily perform deep tissue manipulations. Cool stones are sometimes used alternately with hot stones. Massage oils are usually incorporated into the massage treatment.

Prenatal massage Shares many of the goals of regular massage — to relax tense muscles, ease sore spots, improve circulation and mobility, and just make you feel good. But it's also tailored specifically to the needs of pregnant women and their changing bodies, and therapists who are trained in prenatal massage adjust their techniques accordingly.
